Disruptive innovation for online informal sector in Palembang City

Abstract The Internet has aided the informal sector to make an innovation in a business transaction. There is shift from conventional or face-to-face meeting with consumers online transactions. present study aims describe disruptive for Palembang City. method employed was quantitative descriptive approach, while data were collected through survey of 382 respondents. then analyzed using statistic method. research resulted several findings. dominated by e-commerce social media, such as Facebook, Instagram. YouTube, and others. average income founders reached Rp250,000 – Rp500,000 per day. Meanwhile, number workers 1-4 people ranging Rp1,000,000 Rp2,000,000 month. mostly graduated Senior high schools (SMA), Vocational school (SMK), Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic school). main issue faced sectors includes strategic locations (near school, campus, markets, others).
